Congratulations! You are about to have a baby with Down syndrome. You may think you are going to bring a child into the world who is going to live a life of unhappiness and suffering, but that’s not true. It’s going to be hard, but you are going to feel as happy as a parent can be because your child will bring you joy and happiness. Think of all the amazing things your child can accomplish. Think about their futures, their dreams. Let them fill your life with love, happiness and joy. Because that is what they bring.
— Frank Stevens, Person with Down syndrome

New & Expectant parents

When I first received Logan’s diagnosis, after the initial shock and grief passed, I researched and gathered as much information as I could. I wish I had come across a one-stop-shop of knowledge, some magical place containing a step-by-step guide to navigating this new world. I wanted a handbook like the one you get when starting a new job. Since I didn’t find one for myself, I am making one for you. In the pages below, I hope to provide you with the resources and information I found helpful when I started my journey of becoming a parent to a child with Down syndrome. And the resources I find useful now as we navigate life with Logan.
